If you don’t know much about FirstEnergy Corporation and its operations yet, then kindly read my previous article about FirstEnergy Corporation.

You should also make use of the table of contents below to help you navigate the page. Simply click on a topic and you will jump right to the article under that particular topic.

FirstEnergy Corp Bill Pay Methods

FirstEnergy Corp has many billing methods in place to make it easier for all customers to choose a convenient method. Below are the payment methods available.

Bank draft payment

Customers can pay using a one-time bank draft. With this method, the customer must have an online FirstEnergy account. If you don’t have an account yet, you can register for one using this link.

You will be required to enter the following details during payment:

  • Bank account holder name
  • Bank name
  • Bank account number
  • Bank routing number
  • Type of bank account (checking or savings)

All these details will be saved automatically for future transactions. You have the option to delete them if you want to. You will have to select a payment date and the amount manually.
A confirmation message will be sent to your registered email when you submit your payment.

Note that this method will not work under any of the following conditions:

  • Bill is over 30 days past due
  • The account is in disconnect status
  • The account is identified as a “cash only” account
  • Your account is a collective billing account

You must also expect 1 to 3 business days of delay in the deduction of funds from your account.

Credit card payment

The credit card can be used for making payments using the online FirstEnergy account, guest account, or phone call.

No matter which option is convenient, you must note that all payments made between 8:00 am to 8:00 pm from Monday to Friday will be processed on the same day. Any other payment made outside this time range will be processed the next business day within the given time range.

below are the cards accepted:

  • Debit or Credit – Visa®, MasterCard®, Discover®, American Express® or Diners Club®
  • Pinless Debit Cards – PULSE®, STAR®, Accel®, and NYCE®
  • Apple Pay® or Google Pay® (online only)

If you don’t want to go through the process every time, then use the automatic debit or credit card FirstEnergy Corp bill pay method. You can get more information on that from the FirstEnergy website.

Note that this FirstEnergy Corp bill pay methods are processed by a third-party vendor known as KUBRA whom FirstEnergy has contracted to process all card payments. Transaction fees are charged per the third party’s terms.

Direct debit payment

The direct debit payment is one FirstEnergy Corp bill pay method that helps you pay your bills without any stress at all. The payment is fully automated and deducted from your bank account without any effort from your end.

This particular method is one of the easiest FirstEnergy Corp bill pay methods available to customers. You only have to take a few minutes to set it all up for the first time. From there, it becomes fully automated.

Direct Debit Payment Plan is the vendor providing this particular service. It is a third-party vendor FirstEnergy has contracted for this service so almost everything is done from their end.

You should check how to set up this particular billing method from the FirstEnergy website.

Pay in person

With this FirstEnergy Corp bill pay method, you will have to visit a contracted FirstEnergy agent in order to make your payment.

FirstEnergy has contracted various establishments in their service areas to collect customer bills. These agents can be located using the Agency Finder on FirstEnergy’s website.

Note that, these agents charge fees for processing your payments, and depending on your location, the fees might vary.

In my personal opinion, this is one of the most tedious FirstEnergy bill pay methods available. I see it this way probably because you will have to move from your location to somewhere else before making your payment. Not forgetting the extra fees charged.

Pay by mail

This particular FirstEnergy Corp bill pay method is the oldest method of collecting the payment. You will simply have to enclose your bill with the return bill stub in the return envelope that comes with your bill and mail it to FirstEnergy Corp. It is very simple huh?

These are the addresses you must mail to.

Address: P.O. Box 3687 Akron, Ohio 44309-3687 for customers served by the following FirstEnergy companies:

  • Ohio Edison
  • The Illuminating Company
  • Toledo Edison
  • Met-Ed
  • Penelec
  • Penn Power
  • West Penn Power
  • Jersey Central Power & Light

Address: P.O. Box 3615 Akron, Ohio 44309-3615 for customers served by the following companies.

  • Potomac Edison
  • Mon Power

Make sure you send to the right FirstEnergy Corp bill pay address depending on which company is serving you to avoid delays in payments.

In my personal opinion, all the above methods are equally effective and convenient depending on the situation. However, I will always say Credit card and direct debit payments are the easiest since you will only have to set them once.
